Vacations!

Taking a vacation! Sounds like a great idea. Should be relaxing. Unfortunately, being an entrepreneur, vacation many times is cleverly disguised to your family as a business trip/ vacation. You spend weeks planning and making arrangements and getting everything together that the family will need. You try to pack in as much fun and try to get in as many stops as you can. You make sure to keep everyone well and of course at the last minute, hours before your trip you find out one of kids has a nasty stomach virus! Ugghhh!

Yes, I am speaking from experience. Last week we were to head out on our business/vacation when I got the call from my mom that my son, who was staying with her for a few days, was up all night vomiting and other fun things. What could we do? Well, luckily, working for yourself allows a little "wiggle room" in plans. We were able to wait out his 24 hour bug and head out a day later and had a wonderful vacation and accomplished everything except visiting my sister (so not to pass on any viruses).

What is it about planning? Why is it that we can't plan for everything or for the unexpected? Its so frustrating! But staying positive, taking a breath and just letting life flow as it flows, will get you through, I promise. You can't help freaking out in the moment, but if you can step out of that moment and breath a great big positive breath, you'll see it doesn't really matter, it all works itself out.

So go out and make plans, schedule things, but when it seems it may all be crumbling around you, take a step back, breath and let it all flow like its supposed to flow. It will all work out like its supposed to, maybe not how you planned, but how it was supposed to.
